Sentences...

Lately, Lotte's speech has improved dramatically. Sentences are getting longer. Pronounciation getting better... and that is "us" noticing it.
Normally, when the child is improving, it is so gradually, that it takes someone else who hasn't seen her for a while to tell you how she improved. To them the change is clear.
It reminds me of the "shock" we had looking at some footage we took 1-1/2 year ago, and seeing the difference. It was just amazing.

So, for you that are considering a CI for your child, or are in the early stages... Make recordings and video of your child. Also before the child has CI, because the change, the difference will be so much clearer.
Also, start a blog - like this one. I started this blog far too late, in November 2006. I should have started when we found out... but what did I know...

And now, 2-1/3 year into our journey, we are looking at this deaf girl, enjoying hearing sounds.....
